Kate McConnell

Senior Creative Director

As Senior Creative Director, Kate McConnell connects guests with stories and ideas through spaces and experiences. She creates and guides the guest experience for a broad variety of projects, with a particular focus on museums and cultural attractions.  


With her extensive background in theater and production dramaturgy, Kate is an advocate for the audience’s perspective, ensuring a compelling and cohesive experience that engages, entertains, and sometimes provokes. In addition to her award-winning experience design work, she has collaborated with the world-renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival for more than 10 years, contributing as a production dramaturg, a writer for their various publications, and a dramaturg in the Play On! Project.


Prior to Thinkwell, Kate was a visiting assistant professor of English and Theater at Colgate University, where she taught courses on dramatic literature, theory, and history and directed and collaborated on various productions.
